CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA first started in Japan in the 1960's where it is known as Teikei (food with the farmer's face on it), and later in the USA in the 1980's. It has been a meaningful and successful way to reconnect communities and support small, local farms and economies.

    * * COVID-19 Update, April 2020 * *

    In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are making some changes to how shares work this year.

    1. Local doorstep delivery will be available for a small fee for those who don't live on site and don't want to pick up (understandable!). To take advantage of this option please purchase it through the shop and note your desired delivery address.

    2. Shares will be pre-packed for "grab 'n' go" style pick up, at least through June (at which point we can re-assess). You'll still be able to customize your share by responding to a questionnaire a few days ahead of time, and I'll work on adding online retail options for extras and bulk orders. Packaging will be recyclable, so you won't need to return it.

    3. Pre-packed shares will always be an option - even if we (mostly) return to the original market-style pick up.

    Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!

  • How it works!

    We are a market-style CSA on the grounds of Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm. Pick-up for 2020 is on Wednesday afternoons 3-6pm. Here's what you get:

    Fresh veggies!

    Each week you get 7-9 (or 4-6) items including a range of roots, herbs, greens, and vegetables.

    Everything is grown on site, and harvested fresh Wednesday mornings.

    Most weeks 1-2 items will be optioned and you'll have a choice between 2 similar items, allowing you to customize your box a bit.

    Then take advantage of the swap table. Of course we encourage you to try new things, but here's a chance to leave something you know you won't use - and take something you will.

    Eat up!

    Check the newsletter (or ask during pick-up) for storage, preservation, and cooking ideas.

    Say hello, ask us questions, chat with other members, and have a look around the farm too!
